    2. To understand what plant-based foods help meet nutrient needs for pregnancy.

    Speaker

    Maya Bach, MPH, RDN

After graduating from Loma Linda University in 2013, I started my dietetics career in weight management. When my sister became pregnant in 2020, I noticed a lack of prenatal nutrition guidance for vegan moms-to-be.

From how to get enough nutrients like iron and protein to choosing the best prenatal supplements, it was hard to find information that didn't heavily focus on animal products. I decided to shift my private practice to prenatal nutrition, specifically helping those who want a healthy pregnancy but don't want to eat meat, dairy, or eggs.

Today, I've helped dozens of women have healthy babies. When I'm not working, you can find me with my poodle mix, Dexter, or on a long beach run.
